December is such a magical time to be in Sun Valley. As winter settles in, the talk of the town has naturally turned to snow, specifically, the lack of it. The last time Baldy didn’t open on Thanksgiving was 2008. And while most longtime locals will tell you there’s nothing to worry about (some of our biggest winters like the 16/17 season, started out just like this), it’s only natural to wonder whether we’ll be treated to a white Christmas this year. Still, I find myself grateful that so many of us are united in our collective hope for snow. It will come, and soon enough we’ll be skiing and riding together again—I’m sure of it. Below you’ll find a quick Market Update, including a video from Windermere’s chief economist with his 2026 housing forecast, details about SKI TUNE WEEK, and a list of some of the festive, magical events happening around the Valley this December.
Wishing you and yours a joyful and memorable holiday season!
