We feel summers are the best and are thoroughly enjoying this season.

Casey is playing more golf this summer (not a ton, but more than ever before) as his boys are into it and it’s a great way to have fun with them. 1 of the 4 boys outplays him currently and the rest will probably be beating him soon. We are heading to one of Montana’s best courses for a weekend getaway soon at the Wilderness Club.

It’s been a busy summer for Tyler, who recently competed in a regional tennis tournament with a shot to go to nationals in San Diego. Outside of that, he also replaced a kitchen faucet and had a baby.

We have helped many buyers/sellers this summer with moves/sales and are enjoying it! Though, the overall market is a bit static right now… see below for more of an update.

SNOHOMISH COUNTY & KING COUNTY: MARKET UPDATES

Over the past few years, home prices in Snohomish & King Counties have followed a familiar seasonal pattern, with peaks in spring and summer and softer prices in the winter. King County continues to lead in the median sales price, but both markets have leveled off in recent months as more listings give buyers greater choices. Overall, inventory is creeping up, which is keeping demand suppressed and prices static.

WHY EVERY HOME NEEDS A

HIDE-A-KEY 

Ever found yourself locked out of your own home? We have too. While smart locks are great (until the battery dies), having a hidden backup key can save you time, stress, & a locksmith bill. 

We have unfortunately seen contractor lockboxes broken into, it recently happened to one of our colleagues on their own front door. If you use a lockbox, place it somewhere that's not easily visible from the street. Lockboxes are handy, but here are some other creative hide-a-key ideas we've seen:

• Hide-a-rock: blends into your landscaping 
• Fake dog poop: weird, but we suppose it works
• On top of the door sill: simple & quick, but predictable
• Inside an electrical outlet: see here for an example
• Under the deck, BBQ or backside of the house: less obvious spots
• Contractor lockbox: simple, but make sure it is hidden or around the side or back of your home. 
• Oh and of course, leaving a key with a neighbor you trust works great too.

It is always nice to have a backup plan for getting back into your home, & it doesn't hurt if it's a little fun too. If you have another great idea, we would love to hear it and add it to the list.
