Episode 11 of the Price & Gardner report.

Summer’s almost here, and we’re already leaning into it…

  • Casey has his boat in the water and is determined to graduate from wakesurfing to foiling.
  • Tyler just got back from the Kendrick Lamar + SZA show at Lumen Field… ask him about it and you’ll get a full review.
  • On the real estate front, we listed 5 properties last week including a 628sqft cabin on Lake Roesiger.
  • If you're hitting the road for Memorial Day Weekend, HEADS UP: there’s construction on the I-90 bridge near Vantage, so plan accordingly to dodge the delays.

As always, this newsletter is full of useful info, market updates, ways to save money (and headaches) on insurance, and a few laughs. We’re glad you’re here!

WHAT WE LEARNED ABOUT HOME INSURANCE COULD SAVE YOU MONEY...

Lately, we've been neck-deep in all things homeowners’ insurance. Between shopping for new coverage, digging into recent changes, and navigating our own claims (not fun), we've learned a lot.

We are passing along some highlights that every homeowner should know but most of us never hear until it’s too late. If you haven’t looked at your policy in a while, this is worth the read.

  • Know your RCV (Replacement Cost Value). It’s the cost to rebuild your home—not its market value—and it’s what really matters when it comes to coverage. If you’ve made updates or improvements, make sure your carrier knows.
  • Do a yearly policy review. Request your Declaration Page to see what’s covered (and what’s not), including deductibles and any added riders.
  • Don’t go too cheap. Low premiums can mean limited coverage. Make sure your policy will actually protect you in a worst-case scenario.
  • Consider extra coverage. Things like earthquake or sewer backup aren't typically included in standard policies but can be added as riders.
  • Be thoughtful about claims. Filing for smaller issues can raise your premiums—or even risk your coverage—so weigh the pros and cons carefully.
  • Keep your home in good shape. Insurers are using everything from drive-by's to Google Earth to assess risk, and poorly maintained homes are more likely to see rate hikes or policy drops.

If you’re planning to shop for insurance or just want a second opinion, let us know—we are happy to send over a few trusted contacts who can help.
